Custom Cushion Construction

Every cushion is made to order using professional upholstery materials selected for comfort, durability, and everyday use.

Performance Velvet Upholstery

Performance velvet is an excellent choice for dining nooks and banquettes because it combines a rich, soft appearance with enhanced durability for everyday seating.

Specific performance characteristics vary by fabric collection. Depending on the selected velvet, options may include stain resistance, high abrasion ratings, easy-clean finishes, and commercial-grade durability.

Velvet naturally reflects light differently depending on the direction of the nap. This variation is part of the fabric’s character and may cause the color to appear lighter or darker from different angles.

Fabric samples are recommended before production so you can review the color and texture in your space.

Custom Measurements

All cushions are manufactured according to the measurements provided and approved by the client.

To prepare a custom quote, please provide:

• Length and depth of each seat cushion
• Desired finished cushion thickness
• Width and height of each back cushion
• Number of individual cushion sections
• Photos of the built-in seating area
• A sketch showing the cushion layout
• Preferred velvet color
• Delivery ZIP code
• Details regarding curves, corners, angles, cutouts, or unusual shapes

A physical template may be required for curved, angled, asymmetrical, or irregularly shaped seating.

For built-in spaces, we recommend taking measurements after cabinetry, millwork, drywall, and finished wall surfaces have been completed.

Made to Order in Los Angeles

Each custom cushion is handcrafted to order by HF Atelier in Los Angeles.

Standard production is approximately 8 to 12 weeks after measurements, fabric, construction details, and payment have been approved. Complex configurations, specialty materials, and commercial projects may require additional production time.

Rush production may be available for an additional fee.
